In addition to the community-building that takes place in the classroom, at recess and during sports and extracurricular activities, all students participate in “buddy class” activities that allow then to work collaboratively and cooperatively with students in other grades. Students in all grades also join Faith Families. Faith Families consist of one student from each grade level, transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. Eighth grade students pick a Saint name for their family, and they lead their family in faith forming and group bonding activities throughout the year. After-school events like Family Fun Night, Family Science Night and Family Skate Night provide more opportunities for students to build friendships while parishwide liturgical and sacramental celebrations are designed to promote interaction and friendship with parish families outside of the school ministry.
